Coaches

The 2025 season will mark Travis Noland's 28th season as a Head Coach. During his career, he has coached in North Carolina and Georgia, amassing an impressive record of 221-97. Noland has coached over 55 collegiate players and several NFL players. Coach Noland also served as the President of the Georgia Football Coaches Association from 2018 to 2023. In three seasons at Jefferson, Coach Noland has led the Dragons to three consecutive Region Championships, including a 5A Semifinals appearance in 2023 and a GHSA AAA State Championship game appearance in 2024.

Prior to his arrival at Jefferson, Coach Noland spent eight seasons at Oconee County High School. In those eight seasons, the Warriors were 70-27, including back-to-back State Championship game appearances (2019 & 2020), three Region Championships (2015, 2019, 2020), and eight straight playoff appearances. While at OCHS, Noland coached two All-Americans (Max Johnson, Jake Johnson) and 13 All-State players.

Before making the move to Oconee, Noland was the Head Coach at Stephens County High School. In nine seasons at SCHS, Noland won 73 games, including three Region 8-AAA Championships and eight playoff appearances.

Prior to arriving in Georgia, Noland was the Head Coach at Tuscola High School in Waynesville, NC. Inheriting a program that had been through five consecutive losing seasons, Noland helped lead a turnaround in two seasons that resulted in an overall record of 17-6 with two consecutive playoff appearances.

Coach Noland’s head coaching career began at Erwin High School in Asheville, NC. Erwin had suffered through an 8-106 run in the years prior to Noland’s arrival. Noland and his staff engineered an overhaul of the Erwin program in his five seasons there, earning a record of 29-26 with three playoff appearances.

Noland is a graduate of Appalachian State University, where he played quarterback for the Mountaineers. Noland is married to Julie Noland and has three sons: Zeb (27), Abe (25), and Ben (23).
