Matt Sims

Head Boys and Girls Golf Coach

Matt Sims is entering his 11th year as head coach of the Jefferson High School boys and girls golf teams.

He and his wife, Wendy, have lived in Jefferson for 16 years. Their son, Luke, is a seventh grader at Jefferson Middle School.

Before joining Jefferson High School, Sims spent nine years teaching in Barrow County, where he also coached football and baseball. He taught in the science department for eight years before transitioning to business education in the CTAE department. He is now in his third year in that role.

Sims is passionate about coaching golf and values the sport’s ability to build character, promote teamwork and instill a lifelong love for the game. In his free time, he enjoys traveling and spending time with his family.
