Sideline Clearance Guidelines

Jefferson Memorial Stadium

Due to an increase in sideline access requests, Jefferson City Schools is implementing updated media access guidelines to ensure the safety, organization and fairness of our athletic events. These guidelines apply to all individuals requesting field-level access at Jefferson Memorial Stadium.

Who May Receive Sideline Access

Sideline access will be granted only to individuals who meet the following criteria.

Credentialed Media

  • Must represent an established news outlet affiliated with the Georgia Press Association, Georgia Public Broadcasting, or another recognized media organization.
  • Must submit a request at least 24 hours in advance of the event to the Jefferson City Schools Communications Department.

Official Student Workers (Yearbook Staff)

  • Must be part of a school-approved program and credentialed through Jefferson City Schools Communications Department.

Approved Private Photographers/Videographers

  • Individuals hired by the JHS athletics director, JHS coaches and/or athletes and their families must receive clearance from the JCS Communications Department and pass a background check before access will be granted.

Visiting Team Media

  • Must remain on the visitor side of the field at all times prior to and during the game.
  • Are required to follow the sideline clearance and credentialing process as outlined above.

Access & Check-In Process

  • All approved individuals must wear a JCS-issued sideline pass and lanyard, clearly visible at all times.
  • Passes are valid for one game only and must be picked up at the lower ticket gate in front of The Field House at Jefferson Memorial Stadium.
  • Upon arrival, all credentialed individuals must check in with the ticket taker at the lower gate to register and pick up a sideline pass.

Field-Level Expectations

  • No interaction with players during warm-ups or during the game.
  • No access to locker rooms before, during or after the game.
  • No entry into the team box area at any time.
  • Media must remain outside the field of play at all times.
  • Sideline passes must be displayed at all times. Failure to do so will result in immediate removal.
  • Unauthorized individuals are strictly prohibited from entering the sideline.

Submitting a Request

  • To request sideline access, email the Jefferson City Schools Communications Department: tyler.pineda@jeffcityschools.org
  • Please use "Media Request / Sideline Access" in the subject line. Include your name, media affiliation, date of event and purpose of coverage.
  • All requests must be made by 12 p.m. two days in advance of the contest to ensure time for review and clearance (i.e, Wednesday at noon for a Friday athletic event).
  • For questions or clarifications, contact Tyler Pineda, athletics media coordinator, at tyler.pineda@jeffcityschools.org.

Assumption of Risk

By accepting a sideline credential, all individuals and their organizations acknowledge and accept the inherent risks associated with covering athletic events, including (but not limited to):

  • Flying objects.
  • Collisions with players or sideline staff.
  • Inclement weather.
  • Other unforeseen hazards.

Final Reminders

We value our partnerships with media professionals and our families’ desire to capture special moments. These guidelines are in place to protect everyone involved and to uphold the integrity of our athletic events.

We appreciate your cooperation and support in keeping Jefferson athletics safe, professional and enjoyable for all.
